Tennessee Agriculture Literacy Week
November 15-21, 2020
November 15-21, 2020- Tennessee Agriculture Literacy Week.
Over 225 livestock producers, 4-H and FFA members and agricultural supporters took the opportunity to share their agriculture knowledge in local schools, reading accurate agriculture books and sharing related activities with over 12,000 school children, during Tennessee Agriculture Literacy Week 2019.
Many Tennessee school children have little to no knowledge about agriculture. Serving as a resource for local teachers is an excellent way to insure accurate information about agriculture is shared in our school systems.
November 15-21 will be recognized as Tennessee Agriculture Literacy Week.
Many farmers and agriculture producers regularly volunteer as classroom resources. Tennessee Agriculture Literacy Week offered volunteers all across the state the opportunity to focus the spotlight on our industry, during the week.
Hundreds of classrooms and thousands of students benefit from the efforts of agriculture volunteers sharing their agriculture stories and knowledge. All volunteers who participate in the Tennessee Agriculture Literacy Week are encouraged to complete the online survey at www.TennesseeAg.org. so that we have an accurate record of all those who participated and how many students were reached.
Readers who complete the survey will be eligible for drawings for insulated metal mugs. Participating teachers will be eligible for drawings for Walmart gift cards.
